Who We Are
Hotel Hope MLK is a shelter for mothers with children who are in an emergency housing crisis. We serve families for approximately 30-45 days as a case worker helps them create a plan to become self-sufficient and place them into a more stable housing.
We are looking for volunteers 21 yrs. old and older to serve as receptionists, from 4:00p.m.-8:00p.m., showing hospitality to families while answering any crisis calls or donations that may come. Volunteers will receive orientation prior to scheduling. We ask our desk receptionists to keep a log of the happenings on each shift to keep everyone knowledgeable of the events of the day.
The only qualifications needed to become a Hotel Hope Volunteer is the ability to be hospitable and to love the guests at the Hotel Hope MLK. If you have questions, please contact Sr. Julie Marsh at 504-821-7773 or jmarsh@hotelhope.org.
What We Do
We serve the most vulnerable in our community--women with children who are in a housing crisis.
