Who We Are

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Salvation Army Greater New Orleans Command serves the parishes of Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist and St. Tammany.

What We Do

Salvation Army offers many different programs and services including the Center of Hope, which houses up to 250 adults and families nightly who need a warm meal and bed. The army also offers numerous social services including adult rehabilitation, youth programs, disaster relief , extensive assistance throughout the year to those in our community in need, and special assistance during the Christmas holidays.
