Who We Are
Founded by former teachers, STEM Library Lab (SLL) is rooted in the experiences of local educators and their challenges incorporating rigorous inquiry-based learning activities into classrooms. Our mission is to foster high-quality active learning by providing teachers with access to equipment, programs, experiences and STEM instructional support to drive student success. From a successful pilot program in 2017 supporting 20 area teachers, SLL opened our physical library location in August 2018 has grown to serve over 1300 teachers from 80+ regional schools.
What We Do
SLL operates 5 core programs aimed at improving the capacity of GNO teachers while fostering sustainability and equity. Each of these programs targets a specific set of challenges identified by local teachers and removes barriers which previously prevented them from carrying out high quality lessons.
Since 2017, we have served over 1400 teachers, saving them a collective $2.2 million dollars through our Equipment Lending Co-op, Teacher Free-Store, Service Learning Program, EdOpportunities Database, and Professional Development.
