Sangha House NOLA

Sangha House NOLA is a Buddhist meditation, retreat, and community center in New Orleans' 7th Ward where contemplative practice and community care come together. We serve through a gift economy model and our work integrates mindfulness education, healing circles, cultural arts programming, shared resources and community care. We're guided by a Core Group of dedicated practitioners and supported by a vibrant network of volunteers who make our mission of accessible dharma and mutual care possible.

We offer volunteers the opportunity to practice mindfulness while serving the community through meaningful action and mutual care as responsibility. Volunteer opportunities include stewarding our 400+ book Freedom Library, temple upkeeping and organizing, tending our urban garden and apothecary, assisting with retreat logistics, and helping with community gatherings. No meditation experience required - just an open heart and willingness to show up.
