The Acorn Farm is an organic, nonprofit urban farm and community space dedicated to increasing food access and education in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. We envision a community where residents have access to produce that is truly local, affordable, and delicious.
Through our partnership with Fair Grinds Coffeehouse, The Acorn Farm’s deep community roots have a global impact that supports fair trade, organic coffee growers worldwide.
The Acorn Farm provides fresh produce to residents in our neighborhood and across New Orleans through various vendors including the Sankofa Fresh Stop Market (the Lower 9's only fresh produce market).
Our farm serves as an educational space to come learn about edible gardening, organic growing practices, cooking, and food security.
