Who We Are

Founded by former teachers, STEM Library Lab (SLL) is rooted in the experiences of local educators and their challenges incorporating rigorous inquiry-based learning activities into classrooms. Our mission is to foster high-quality active learning by providing teachers with access to equipment, programs, experiences and STEM instructional support to drive student success. From a successful pilot program in 2017 supporting 20 area teachers, SLL opened our physical library location in August 2018 and grew to work with over 300 teachers from 83 regional schools. These teachers have borrowed 668 times resulting in over 4,057 inquiry-based lessons for over 16,500 students.

What We Do

Since 2017, SLL launched and now operates 5 core programs aimed at improving the capacity of STEM teachers. Each of these programs targets a specific set of challenges identified by local teachers and removes barriers which previously prevented them from carrying out high quality lessons. From a successful pilot program supporting 20 area teachers, we now serve over 400 teachers through our Equipment Lending Co-op, Teacher Free-Store and Professional Development, Service Learning and EdOpportunities Database
