Volunteer: Advertising and Marketing Student Internship

Position Logistics
Start and End Date:  February 16-May 5, 2026 
Hours per Week: 5 hours
Number of Weeks: 7 weeks

Position Information
Core Technical Skill Set:
• Marketing - includes physical material development, brand strategizing, website editing, and search engine optimization
• Event Planning - Involves creative planning, coordinating event details, and managing day of logistics
• Data Analysis – Analyzes social media posts and email newsletters performance

General Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with writing for social media marketing posts
• Assist with writing copy for monthly email marketing newsletter
• Assist with events such as Health and Wellness Events and Giving NOLA Day; student has the option to work in person for special events or as needed 
• Assist with collecting and analyzing digital marketing performance metrics (e.g., email open rates, social media engagement, website traffic)
• Support in developing basic dashboards or summary reports to track campaign effectiveness
• Conduct simple A/B testing analysis for marketing campaigns (e.g., email subject lines or social media content performance)

Specific Deliverable(s):

• Main deliverables will be writing copy for the newsletter that goes out to partners and beneficiaries.
• Other materials building social media campaigns and preparing promotional materials and presentations for potential partners

Qualifications:
• Proficient using Microsoft Office, MailChimp, Excel and Canva
• Significant attention to detail, organizational and writing skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferences:
• Proficient attention to detail
• Self-starter who can efficiently meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills

High Voltage is seeking dedicated Board Members for the 2026–2028 term. High Voltage is a Louisiana non-profit organization providing intergenerational programs that support the community’s youth and senior citizens through educational, recreational, and arts programming.

Our programs help youth realize their potential, build character, and become effective, contributing members of society, while also keeping seniors active and engaged through health and wellness events.

Board Service Pathway
Before joining the Board of Directors, applicants are required to volunteer with High Voltage for six months, contributing approximately 5–10 hours per month. This period allows both you and the organization to determine whether Board service is a good fit.

Board Member Responsibilities
Board Members may be responsible for:

Advising on long-term and short-term organizational planning.

Participating in fundraising and resource development to support High Voltage’s mission.

Overseeing the management of the organization’s affairs and ensuring they are conducted in a businesslike, responsible, and efficient manner.

Assisting in the promotion of programs and services to the community, including through media and public engagement.

Participating in reports and presentations to the community about High Voltage’s programs and services.

Convening at least three times per year (January, April, and October) in the State of Louisiana.

Maintaining accurate records of all official proceedings.

Time Commitment
Volunteer period: 6 months at approximately 5–10 hours per month.

Ongoing Board service: An estimated 5–10 hours per month, including meeting preparation, committee work, and community engagement.
