Looking for a university undergrad or graduate student/s who are interested in fulfilling internship or community service hours! Also open to adults who are seeking philanthropic opportunities to give back to the community. Retired teachers, professors, researchers, or retail workers would also be great. The work done will be inventorying items and kits in our Equipment Lending Library alongside our Head Librarian, Szabi. These items are for k-12 STEM classrooms (e.g. microscopes, anatomy models, circuit kits, educational toys, math manipulatives, etc.).
Opportunity is indoors, air conditioned, can be done mostly seated. No heavy lifting required. Requires attention to detail and competent computer/spreadsheet skills with training. We provide a laptop, if needed. Work is done on Google Drive and our inventory platform, MyTurn.
Hours per day and week are flexible between M-F 10a-6p. We will email you to confirm what works for your schedule and we are willing to accommodate what is needed for school credit. We are looking for individuals who can come multiple days, but are open to single 8hr day volunteers.
Study groups, friend groups, or clubs are encouraged to work together. Advanced (AP level) high schoolers 17+ with work experience may be considered, please email blair@stemlibrarylab.org to discuss.
