SBP is a national disaster rebuilding organization headquartered in New Orleans. We rely on unskilled volunteers to build homes for families in need. In New Orleans we are rebuilding for families affected by the February 2017 New Orleans East Tornado, as well as Hurricanes Katrina and Isaac. Most of these families have not yet returned home due to massive delays in federal funding or years of fighting contractor fraud. In New Orleans we also use volunteers to help create affordable housing through our Opportunity Housing program which turns abandoned and blighted properties into affordable homes for first time home buyers and renters.
