Marsh Grass Planting - Coastal Revegetation Program 2022

Expired

Description

Help Common Ground Relief plant marsh grasses in Southeast Louisiana with the Louisiana Dept. of Agriculture & Forestry and Lafourche Terrebonne Soil and Water Conservation District! Each Tuesday (weather-dependent), we will plant 1,500 - 2,500 plugs of grass in locations vulnerable to erosion and land loss.

Sites may be located throughout Southeast Louisiana -- car required to travel to site. We can give up to a few people a ride -- text Charlotte 978-505-9989 if you need one. Boats will be used to access the planting locations. Volunteers may be up to waist-deep in water, so please wear a comfortable t-shirt and shorts or pants that can be fully wet/muddy. For footwear, we recommend old sneakers, water shoes, or sturdy sandals (no flip flops) that can get completely wet/muddy.

Exact locations, event times, and further details will be sent upon registration.

Email volunteer@commongroundrelief.org with questions.
