Every year in mid-June, over 400 United Ways around the world band together to provide volunteer events in their communities. Here in Southeast Louisiana, 2018's event is particularly exciting, as it coincides with our city's Tricentennial Celebration. Together, local nonprofits are creating a historic volunteer impact through the Tricentennial Challenge, 300,000 service hours through 300 unique service projects.
Join us for a day of building picnic tables, benches, landscaping, interior classroom cleaning, as well as a kid friendly volunteer opportunity. Volunteers should wear closed toed shoes, and clothes they feel comfortable working in and don't mind getting dirty. All supplies, safety gear, snacks and water will be provided on site for volunteers. Parking will be in surrounding residential streets.
