"Do It Yourself" (DIY) Volunteering is a way to serve your community from home this Mardi Gras season, based on your own interests and schedule! 
 
Register to track your service hours and receive additional resources.  
 
Promote service and find community this Mardi Gras season by posting about your volunteer project with the Hashtag:

Be creative with your volunteering!  Here are a few ideas to get started:
  1. Follow these guidelines from #CleanUPNOLA of "simple things we can do every day to help take care of the City we love so much."
  2. Complete a 7 - 30 day gratitude challenge.  
  3. Write a note of thanks to a health care worker or essential worker.  
  4. Sign up to volunteer virtually here or here
  5. Use this Virtual Volunteering Toolkit from Points of Light, as a resource to create your DIY project.  
  6. Perform a random act of kindness for a neighbor or stranger
  7. Reach out via phone or social media to a loved one or community member and practice active/empathetic listening.
  8. Donate money to a local, national or international non-profit.
  9. Hire a Mardi Gras artist to support New Orleans culture bearers.  
  10. Learn more about a social justice or environmental issue that is meaningful to you and take recommended action steps.
