Special Services volunteers provides services in their area of expertise.  Attorneys, Hair Stylists, Barbers, Accountants, Licensed Professional Counselors/Social Workers, Massage Therapist, etc.  Special Services volunteers hold a specialized license or certification and follow established rules set out by the state.

Music therapy is more than a music activity in a senior living community.  It assesses the strengths and needs of the patient and designs a plan of treatment that includes creating, singing, moving to, and/or listening to live, patient-preferred music within individual, group and/or family sessions.  Music Companion volunteers assist Lakeside Hospice's Music Therapist with various tasks that aid in treatment for the patient.

Lakeside Hospice's Bereavement Program follows the bereaved families for thirteen months after the patient's death.  Bereavement Outreach volunteers assist the Bereavement Coordinator and/or Chaplin with phone calls, mailings, and the planning of the annual Memorial service.

Patient and Family Support Volunteers offer comfort and friendship to patients and their families.  They provide patients with support and companionship throughout their care under Lakeside Hospice.  Patient and Family Support volunteers can make home visits or telephone calls to the patients to offer companionship.  Patient and Family Support volunteers can also provide brief periods of respite for the patient's caregiver.
