Needs From: HandsOn New Orleans

We are seeking volunteers to assist in serving a hot breakfast & coffee to our local unhoused community.

 *IMPORTANT:  DO NOT PARK IN THE PREMIUM PARKING LOT BESIDE OUR BUILDING.  THIS IS A PRIVATE LOT AND YOU WILL BE TICKETED/BOOTED IF YOU DO NOT PAY.  YOU MAY PARK ON THE STREET (METERS DO NOT BEGIN UNTIL 8AM) OR THERE IS A PARKING LOT SPECIFICALLY FOR ST JUDE AT THE CORNER OF ST LOUIS & N RAMPART STREETS--LOOK FOR GRAVEL LOT WITH SIGNS THAT SAY "PRIVATE PARKING.  PARKING FOR ST JUDE ONLY".

Volunteers are needed on Saturdays from 9am-3pm!  Volunteer tasks may include:  unloading food donations, restocking shelves, supporting client intake, loading groceries into client vehicles, and manage food stock.    

Calling All Volunteers!

Each week our food pantry is receiving a large shipment of essential goods, and we need enthusiastic individuals to lend a hand in unloading the truck. This is a fantastic opportunity to roll up your sleeves, work alongside like-minded individuals, and directly contribute to combating food insecurity in our area.

Common Ground Relief has hosted food and supply distributions at 1804 Deslonde Street since November 2020.

Our food security initiative was established in response to COVID-exacerbated food insecurity in the Lower Ninth Ward. We served families throughout Southeast Louisiana in the wake of Hurricane Ida.

Volunteer tasks may include unloading food donations and restocking shelves, greeting patrons, loading groceries into vehicles, and managing food stock. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for the outdoor weather. Bring a mask, water, and lunch.

We provide 60 families in need with two bags of groceries each month.  We strive to include healthy options as many of our clients have health issues.  We also provide "Blessing Bags" to the homeless several times a month.

You or your organization can do a collection at an event ("bring a can of food") or do a collection over a period of days/weeks. Collected items will need to be brought to St. Anna's. (Please call ahead to make arrangements.)

PLEASE ONLY NEW/UNUSED ITEMS, NO EXPIRED OR OPENED ITEMS, NO HOMEMADE FOOD ITEMS

Le Chat Noir Theatrics has many volunteer opportunities that connect community members, artists, and activists together in an invested community of service. Volunteers gain incredible insight into the world of nonprofits and daily issues social, political, and artistic that troubles our generation’s brightest minds.

Food Pantry Shortage
Many in our community need help providing food for their families. Our supplies are low, which means we are not able to provide much help.If you would like to donate canned goods or meats, please bring them to 4500 S. Claiborne Ave. Monday-Friday between 9 am-4 pm.
