Who We Are

NOMA is committed to preserving, presenting, and enriching its world-renowned collection and sculpture garden. Our innovative exhibitions and programs create powerful arts experiences that engage and unite diverse communities and cultures, inspiring lifelong learning and knowledge sharing.

What We Do

NOMA volunteers are dedicated to supporting the goals of the New Orleans Museum of Art. NOMA believes in a diverse, inclusive, and equitable volunteer program; respects the values of diverse life experiences and heritages; and seeks to ensure that all volunteers are valued and heard.

The Visitor Experience department, which oversees the volunteer program, is dedicated to:

  • Recruiting and training volunteers to ensure that they will provide quality service to visitors

  • Assisting students who are interested in and/or those required to perform community service to receive service hour recognition

  • Fostering volunteers’ appreciation of the arts and NOMA

  • Matching  volunteers with their interests within the museum

  • Creating a community for volunteers with like-minded individuals to foster open communication and appreciation for art and culture
