Louisiana Books 2 Prisoners is a 501(c)(3) non-profit effort to correspond with inmates and mail them free books. We are 100% volunteer-run and are organized by a core collective group.
Louisiana Books 2 Prisoners (LAB2P) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in New Orleans. LAB2P provides free reading materials to prisoners in state and federal detention facilities in Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, and Mississippi. Volunteers pull from a donated library to send books free of charge to individual inmates based on their requests. These books provide recipients with education, entertainment, and the reminder that people on the outside are thinking of them. We remain the only Louisiana nonprofit promoting prison literacy in this manner. For more information, visit www.lab2p.org.
