Musicians On Call

Musicians On Call is a nonprofit organization with the mission of bringing live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.

At each MOC Bedside shift, a Volunteer Musician is escorted room to room in a healthcare facility by a Volunteer Guide to perform at the bedsides of patients.

These one-on-one interactions between musician and patient have the powerful effect of restoring the happiness that often fades away in healthcare facilities. Musicians play one song or piece of music in each room.

Both volunteer positions require training which includes an application, interview, online handbook / orientation / quiz, background check. Volunteer Guides also complete the hospital's volunteer requirements which typically involves an application, orientation, healthcare screening (TB test, flu shot, certain immunizations), and background check.
