"YLC Wednesday at the Square is a 12-week free concert series that takes place in Lafayette Square each Spring, attracting more than 6,000 music-lovers each week. While the concerts are free and open to the public, a portion of sales from food and beverages go to support YLC's 10 community service projects. These volunteer-run initiatives positively impact New Orleans in many ways, including youth development, career-readiness for students, college prep, leadership development, recycling, biking infrastructure, and more.
100 dedicated volunteers are needed to make YLC Wednesday at the Square a reality each week. Volunteer responsibilities include assisting with selling food and drink tickets, volunteer check-in, beverage serving, and conducting concert satisfaction and demographics surveys. Concerts each Wednesday run from 5 -
8 pm, which means that each volunteer shift lasts 2-3 hours, depending on the role.
Concerts will take place on Wednesday each week for 12 weeks (not including rain dates), from March through the end of May 2018. Specific concert dates will be announced in early 2018."
