Join us SATURDAY, APRIL 23 for a Lower Ninth Ward tree nursery work day with Common Ground Relief, hosted as part of NOLA Ready's Earth Month volunteer series!
The NOLA Ready Climate Series is a monthly two-part event comprised of an educational speaker session with local experts and paired volunteer events around New Orleans! Each month a new theme will be discussed surrounding climate-related topics from the natural vs. built environment to climate justice. This month's theme surrounds Earth Day and what it means to "Invest in Our Planet." Join Common Ground Relief and learn how you can invest in our planet by supporting this tree nursery day!
Help nonprofit Common Ground Relief care for the thousands of native trees in our Lower Ninth Ward nursery. Trees and grasses are used for wetlands restoration projects and urban stormwater retention efforts. Tasks may include, watering, weeding, constructing ponds/beds, and re-potting.
Wear clothes that can get dirty and are comfortable for any type of weather (cold, hot, or wet). Wear comfortable, sturdy shoes that may get very muddy. Bring a water bottle, mask, and sunscreen.
Email volunteer@commongroundrelief.org or text/call Charlotte at 978-505-9989 with questions.
